Melt shop
The foundry is equipped with a long term cupola and an MF induction crucible furnace with a total output of 22 tonnes/hr. This gives Chemnitz an annual capacity of up to 50,000 tonnes of liquid iron. The base materials we use include pig iron, steel scrap, cast iron scrap, and recycled materials. Electricity is used as an energy source. The starting material for the primary molding process is checked continuously for composition using analyses.
PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGY
In Chemnitz, components between 1kg and 100kg unit weight are produced using the machine molding process. The focus is on two high-performance HWS molding lines. The molding box sizes are 800 x 500 x 200/200 mm and 900 x 1000 x 300 + 50/300 mm. The lines have a capacity of 120 and 240 molds per hour. In order to be able to produce particularly complex geometries, Gienanth Chemnitz Guss has 20 core shooters using the ColdBox and Croning processes.
